More Pumpkin Patch

Since Sam was on travel, I took the kids back to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. We got there a little after 4pm and it was a fabulous time to go. There weren’t too many people, which made it a lot more fun. We were meeting our friends from Frisco, Tiffany (who’s husband is always on travel), Hyrum, Alaina, and Carter. Unfortunately they go lost and didn’t make it there until an hour after we were going to meet. Then it took them another hour to find us. We did enjoy the last hour together and it was great to see my friend. If you just did the math, we were there three hours and loved it. We even took the hayride twice! Carter had a lot more fun on this trip to the pumpkin patch. He went in the bounce houses, jumping, giggling, and having a great time. He played in the hay and with the pumpkins. He even went in the hay maze. It was fun to watch him enjoying himself.

Living Room Painting (Twice)

For date night after going out to dinner, Sam and I painted our formal living room. We finished that evening and decided that we hated the color. The next morning, we still hated the color. We didn’t even move the furniture back into the room because I knew I couldn’t live with it.

On Monday morning Sam left for Maryland for a business trip. For those of you in the area, sorry he didn’t visit. He spent his free time studying for the GMAT.

I still hated the color on Monday so I bought more paint. I mention to Alycia that I would be painting and asked if she wanted to help. Not only did she come over to help, but she brought dinner. What a fabulous sister!

I love the new color, which is surprising close to what Alycia has in her house. Alycia even helped me put the furniture back on Tuesday after preschool so I wouldn’t have to live in a mess until Sam came home. Thanks Alycia!

Fall Festival

Eagle Ridge Elementary had a Fall Festival at the school. We were supposed to dress in western wear, so I decked Renée out. She is so cute! They had games set up where the kids won prizes like pirate eye patches and blinky stuff. The kids had their faces painted. Gavin got a spider and Renée got a horse on one side and an R on the other. I participated in a beach ball blowing up contest. I didn’t win, but Carter got a ball and I got a t-shirt. We even had funnel cake, which is my favorite fair food of all.
Our school only includes three neighbor hoods, so we got to spend time with our neighbors and friends from church. Serving on the HOA board has helped me to meet a lot of people and we a feeling a sense of belonging in our community.

BYU vs. TCU

We took Gavin to the BYU vs. TCU game. Renée and Carter slept over Alycia’s house. Gavin loved being there seeing the players and eating cotton candy. He loved the cheering and the standing up. He loved the fireworks and all the balloons they released during half time. We didn’t love how bad BYU got killed. They were ranked #9 and when the game ended the TCU fans were yelling “over rated!” It was really quite sad.

Girl's Night Out

Girl’s Night Out was at the Macaroni Grill. I have only lived here for seven months and already have really great friends. It is so much fun to get together with them to talk and eat!
Starting from the left and around the table: Jen, me, Michelle, Susan, Maryn, Ashley, Jayne, Mandy, and Michalann.

Pumpkin Patch

Sam and Gavin had off work and school because it was Columbus Day. We decided to head up to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. If you live in the area, I recommend you go. It is completely free and lots of fun. This was my second year going, so I wasn’t surprised by the fact that the pumpkins don’t actually grow in this patch. They just line up the pumpkins in a field. It was in the mid 70s, so I couldn’t complain. There are hay mazes, bounce houses, hay rides, and plenty of picnic tables. We met Alycia and kids there and brought our lunch. The kids all had a wonderful time. Renée was even able to pet a horse! Carter didn’t really want to do anything. He did seem to like the hay ride. Sam got a camcorder, so he documented the experience for us.
