Separation

"Did you go to different schools when you were a kid?" - Carter
"Yes, I went to a couple different schools." - Sam
"By the color of your skin?" - Carter
"No, that was my grandparents who were separated by skin color." - Sam
"That was sad for them." - Carter
So we glad we live in a time where my child sees being separated from other races as a sad thing. America is getting better.

Asking First

I asked Renee what she learned at church today and she said, "We learned that Satan wanted to be the Savior but Jesus asked first, so he got to be the Savior."  I think she missed a few very important points too that story.

Stop Lights

Naked and Wet

Carter came home soaking wet and completely naked.  I asked him, "Where are your clothes.?"  His response, "I don't know."

Boys

Gavin - "Can we invite Uncle Dane for Christmas?"
me - "We can but I don't think he will come."
Gavin - "I want to show him my burping skills."

Talented Uncle Dane

Gavin received a birthday card from Uncle Dane, Aunt Laurel, and Zoey. When he opened it he said, "Wow, this is homemade. I didn't know Uncle Dane could make cards."  Thanks Aunt Laurel:)

GG and PapPap in Texas

My mom was able to spend two weeks with us in Texas and my dad was here for one week.  We love having them here and had a great time. 
My mom loves the pool and spent about three hours there with Carter one day while I was running Gavin and Renée to swim team.  She sang with him, played games with him, and after a while he asked, "GG didn't you bring a book?"  She responded that she did and Carter said, "Well, don't you think it is time for you to read it."  He also grabbed her arm and said, "GG, you are rubbery." 
My poor mom had a lupus flare from being in the sun and spent the second week of her trip on steroids.  We were disappointed that we couldn't do everything we planned, but we still had fun being together.
Carter was assigned a talk at church and my dad was able to help him.  Enjoy the video.

Danger is my middle name

Carter's preschool teacher emailed this to me today:

"Somehow names came up today and all the boys were telling each other their entire names.  Carter said his name is Carter Danger Sheppard (and when he says Danger it's with his hands up and with much emphasis!) but some people call him Carter William but it's really Carter Danger.  That boy cracks me up!"

P.E.

"Renee & I are in the same PE class" - Sydney.

Beating Us

I got this second hand from a parent in our carpool.

"Renée, why are you crying?" - Olivia
"Our dad has been beating us all morning." - Gavin
"You mean like punching you in the face?" - Olivia
"No, like yelling at us to hurry up." - Gavin

Hot Butt

Carter was sitting on his Primary teachers lap. After a while, Carter yelled, " my butt is Hot!" He got down and said, "you want to feel it?"

Bombs

"I am going to build the biggest nuclear bomb in the world. It is going to be able to destroy five cities." - Gavin
"Why would you want to do that?" - Tiffany
"Just in case." -Gavin

I guess Gavin believes in emergency preparedness.

"I am going to build a bomb that when it explodes it shoots out spinning plates." - Gavin

I really don't know what to say about that one.

When I was born

Sam was telling the kids about when they were born. Gavin was the biggest loudest baby in the nursery. Renée wouldn't cry. The nurses had to flick her heals.
