Rice Cereal 2.28.07

I gave Carter rice cereal for the first time today. He hated it! I think he might have been too tired so we will try again tomorrow. Gavin and Rene'e didn't cry about having to eat, but Carter sure let me know how he felt about the experience.

You just have to Laugh

I took the kids to the park yesterday because it was such a nice day. I had to nurse Carter and while I was doing that Gavin and Rene'e were playing on the other side of a wooden toy. I could only see the top of their heads. When Carter finished I went over to them to see what they were up to. To my shock and horror, they were eating pringles out of some strangers diaper bag. The owner of the chips came over and I apologized but I was so embarrassed. I guess the only thing I can do now is laugh and hopefully make you laugh too.

Five months old

It is hard to believe that Carter is already five months old.
Here are some pictures from his fifth month of life.
Carter had to use a nebulizer to get rid of a cough. He also had his first ear infection. He wasn't even acting fussy and didn't have a fever. I took him to the doctor for the cough and found out he had an ear infection.
Carter loves spending time in his swing, which is a blessing for me.
He started sticking out his tongue a lot this month.
He really likes to do it on windy days, which are frequent here in Texas.
All dressed up for church.
Carter started holding his hands together a lot.
I think he just realized that he has hands.

Poor Gavin

Rene'e scratched Gavin on his cheek and the skin around his mouth is red from always licking it. We put vaseline on him every night, but it still is red.

Attitude

Can you even believe how much attitude this tiny little girl has? I can't!

She is all dressed up for church.

My Valentines 2.14.07

When I was a little girl I always woke up to find a cardboard heart filled with chocolates on Valentines Day. Now my children have that same treat.

Sam also gave me a box of chocolates but I didn't get very many of them. I found Gavin eating them one day and I asked him how many he ate and he said, "Just five."

Rene'e loves chocolate too and was able to eat her four pieces in one sitting.

28 isn't that old! 2.14.07

Alycia and I celebrated our birthdays by going out to dinner. We went to P.F. Chang and had a wonderful time. This was the first time I was with Alycia on her birthday since we were in college.
Sam made me a 28 pancake before he left for work. It was a nice surprise to come downstairs and find it.
I decided to eat a slice of peanut butter cup cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory for my birthday instead of cake. After everyone else's birthdays I really didn't want to eat more cake. I had to go to cub scouts on my birthday and the kids wanted to see me blow out candles, so I iced some frozen cupcakes and called it good. After I was done with scouts, Sam made me a nice dinner and I had my cheesecake.
This was Sam's birthday present to me. He built a desk in the guest bedroom's closet for my crafts, sewing, and scrapbooking. I love, love, love it!

More Snow! 2.2.07

I didn't think we would get snow in Texas, be here we are again. It didn't last past noon, but the kids sure enjoyed playing in it. The winters are random here. It was freezing on the 2nd and then on Wednesday it was 75. I am ready for it to stay warm.

So the Monsters Don't Scare Me

I went into Gavin and Rene'e's room to check on them before I went to bed and this is how I found Gavin. I had to take a picture! The next morning when I asked Gavin why he was wearing goggles to sleep in he said, "So the monsters don't scare me."

Carter is Four Months

It is hard to believe that Carter is four months already. He is such a sweet baby. He loves to watch his brother and sister and he is so cute when he smiles at us. At his four month check up he was only 12 lbs. 14oz. He is a tiny little guy.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Rene'e can't be described with that little saying. She can be sweet but then she turns on you and scowls. Little girl two is a whole lot different from little boy two. Rene'e is talking a lot more now and loves to color. I was excited one day because she drew two pictures, each in an analogous color scheme (colors that are next to each other on the color wheel). She must be brilliant!

Gavin Turns Four 1.24.07

Now that Gavin is four, the first thing he says when he meets someone is, "Do you know how old I am?" Then he yells and enthusiastic, "Four!" Can you imagine if we did that as adults? Gavin had a great birthday. Sam made him a blue pancake with a four on it. I took him to the library for story time and then we went to McDonald's for lunch. Gavin had his favorite dinner, chicken nuggets and French fries. I made him another cake to have on his actual birthday and he requested that it be blue. Gavin was really easy to buy for this birthday. He told me he wanted a Superman and a gun. I hope it will always be this easy to please him. It is a good thing that Superman is a man of steel because Gavin used his new Star Wars gun to shoot him.
