Carter is One!

Carter turned one on September 28th. He started his birthday at his Aunt Lee's house. I was down there looking at houses. He still got his special 1 pancake. When we got back to our house we had a family party for Carter. He opened presents and got to wear a birthday hat. Carter really liked eating his birthday cake.

What Carter can do at One:
crawl really fast
climb up the stairs
say, "Mama" and "Dada"
pick all the marshmallows out of a pile of Lucky Charms
pull himself up to furniture and our legs
weights 15 lbs.
26 3/4 inches tall
has 6 teeth
drinks from a sippy cup
still takes two, two hour naps

Still Swimming

This was on September 24th. Gavin and Rene'e enjoyed the water, but I wasn't as brave. I think I am getting Texas blood.

More South Padre

I am working on Sam's laptop, so I am finally able to post the rest of these pictures. I has only been a month since we were there:)

Computer Issues

I really haven't forgotten that I have a blog. I am having issues getting my computer to upload my pictures to the site. So, until I get that figured out, I just wanted to let you know what we have been up to.

Gavin started preschool on the 25th. He goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 until 1. It is really nice for all of us.

Carter turned one on the 28th. I do have pictures, so hopefully I will be able to figure out this computer thing. I did take him to the doctor for his one year check up and his weight and height are off the charts. He was 15lbs. and 26 3/4 inches long. I took him to a GI doctor on Tuesday to see if he has any GI issues. They are running tests and trying acid reflux meds. He goes to his endricronologist again at the end of the month. I also enrolled him in Early Childhood Intervention, it is a state program. They will send out a dietician and try to help where they can. Hopefully his appetite will improve soon.

We found a house that we love. We are now hopping for a deal since the markets is so bad. Wish us luck.

The Tanks Game 1

Gavin is playing soccer for the first time. He missed the first two games because we were on vacation, so Monday night was his first game. It was so funny to watch. They play four on four with no goalie and no real clue what they are doing. Gavin paid attention during the game, this set him apart because some kids were swinging from the goals. He also ran and kicked the ball a couple of times. After he did this once I smiled and gave him a thumbs up. After that, every time he looked at me he smiled and gave me a thumbs up (sorry about the blurry picture.) The funniest thing that happened during the game is the ref, who was no more than twelve, was talking to one of Gavin's teammates. The kids grabbed the refs whistle and blew it. The poor little ref was discussed and all us parents were dieing laughing.

South Padre Island Sept. 8th-16th

We had such a wonderful time on our vacation to South Padre Island, TX. It is about 9 hours from where we live but it was worth the drive. The beach was practically emply, because everyone's kids are in school. The ocean was nice and calm, which was great for our little kids. We spent our days playing on the beach and swimming in the ocean, it was 82 degrees! We rented a two bedroom condo, which was half price because it is the off season. It was much nicer than staying in a hotel because Sam and I could actually do things after the kids went to bed. In addition to playing on the beach we took a dophin tour, a boat ride where they take you out in the bay to see the dophins. There were a ton of dophins. We learned that they don't have any preditors in the golf. Gavin even got to drive the boat. There were about 12 of us on the tour that usually holds 100. You have to love vacationing during the off season. We also went to Sea Turtles Inc. It is a rescue center for sea turtles, so they have a lot of tanks of turtles. That was also interesting to see.

Under Contract Again

While were were vacationing on South Padre Island, TX (I will post pictures soon), our house went under contract. Our closing date is set for Dec. 11th. They have a contingency on the sale of their home, but their relocation company will buy their house if it doesn't sell. That is why our closing date is so far away. If their house sells sooner, then we will close sooner. We also can continue to accept other offers. So here is for hoping all will work out.

National Symphony

I went and visited my friend Jennifer in Maryland before I headed home to Texas. I went to church at my old ward and then I went to D.C. to see the National Symphony play on the West lawn of the capital building. Jennifer's husband, Dave, was nice enough to watch Gavin and Rene'e for me. Carter got to come and see the show. It had a wonderful time. We didn't get back until 1am, so driving to Alabama the next day was a little rough.

Eleven Months

My sweet baby Carter is already eleven months. I took him in to be weighed today and he is now 15lbs. 10.5oz. Carter has gotten quite good at crawling around and pulling himself up next to the furniture. He likes to gargle his milk. (I have never had a child do that) Carter has the cutest giggle and the strangest things make him laugh. Today our dog sneazed and Carter just laughed and laughed. These pictures were taken in my parents driveway, just before we left.

No Pap-Pap

After driving for two days to get back to Texas we finally pulled into our garage. Rene'e yelled, "NO, Pap-Pap." Which meant that she didn't want to go home and wanted to be back with her Pap-Pap.
Here are Gavin and Rene'e riding in the wagon behind the tractor while my dad cut the grass.

Dorney Park

The day before we left PA, Dad, Gavin, Rene'e, and I went to an amusement park. The kids went on all kinds of kiddy rides. Rene'e was fearless and wanted to go on everything. I had to ride a little roller coaster with each of them and by the time I got off after the second ride, I was quite sick. Before we left, I went on their biggest baddest roller coaster. It was the kind where your feet dangle. It has been about six years since I have been on any rides. I used to only get sick on rides that spin. I was dissapointed to find out that I now get sick on anything.

Kendra the Goalie Champion

My sister Kendra is the goalie for her field hockey team. We were able to see her in her first game before we left. Gavin and Rene'e loved her helmet.

Under Contract

Our house went under contract yesterday. We close on Sept. 28th, which is Carter's birthday. Now we need to find a new house.

Update

No offers on the house yet. I do have a plan for going home. I am going to stay in PA until Saturday. Then I am going to visit Maryland, where I used to live and will be staying with my friend Jennifer until early Tuesday morning. We will visit Grandma Lil and then return home on Thursday. I will be home for a whole day before we set off for South Padre Island on Saturday. After a whole week at the beach we will return home on September 16th. I don't have any other travel plans until October 6th when Alycia and I go on a five night cruise.

A Fountain of Fun

I visited my friend Rochelle, from high school, in Center Valley, PA. We took the kids to a shopping center fountain and they loved it. Afterwards we had Maggie Moo's ice cream. Yummy!

This morning Gavin woke up and the first thing he said was, "Is it snowing?" I of course said no and then he complained of never getting to see snow.

Gavin went up to my sister Jenne' and said, "Aunt Kendra, Hey your not Aunt Kendra. Are you Aunt Nay?"
