We spent the afternoon on South Beach. I didn’t know that thongs were still fashionable, but they are in Miami. The water was really pretty but it was also really crowded. That night we had Cuban food and then strolled the streets.

Day 2 Miami
Sam has always wanted to ride an airboat. I would have preferred to lay on the beach but I did drag Sam to every art museum in Italy so I figured it was his turn to do what he wanted. After I booked the Everglades Tour I lovingly referred to it as our swamp tour. The tour company picked us up on a bus that must have been a school bus in another life. The walls were made out of wood and the seats were park benches with a thin cushion. The Everglades were really pretty and I was super excited when they gave us ear plugs because I knew they would come in handy for sleeping that night. We saw a lot of alligators and even a few babies. Once we got out on the open water we went really fast. We got in the water and Sam sunk in the mud. After that everyone else stayed in the boat. After the airboat ride we got to see an alligator wrestler. We even paid and extra $3 so Sam could hold an alligator.

Day 1 Miami
We arrived at The Chesterfield Hotel in Miami around midnight. We stayed in the Art Deco District. The streets were still packed with people and music was blaring everywhere. Our room was really pretty and I loved the purple walls. We requested a king sized bed but ended up with two queens. I can’t say I mind having my own bed every now and then. Unfortunity, the walls were not thick enough and I felt like we were sleeping inside a nightclub.

Last Preschool Teaching Day
I really like doing the co-op preschool. I feel like I am involved in Renée’s learning and can see what her strengths and weaknesses are. I like the she has a fresh teacher every week, not someone who is burnt out. Also, I save a ton of money! My turns are over for the year.
Cameron, Claire, Sydney, Renée, Ainsley, and Camie.

Preschool Trip to the Zoo
We took the kids to the Fort Worth Zoo for a preschool field trip. It was a little crazy with such a big group. There were baby giraffes, which were really neat to see. The highlight for me was when Sydney dropped her camelback water bottle in the turkey enclosure. They cost about $13 at Sprouts and Alycia wasn’t about to lose it so she climbed right over that fence and used her foot to get it out of the pond. She was lucky that she didn’t get kicked out of the zoo and that Sydney didn’t drop it in a more ferocious animal’s pen.

Blue Bells
I took the kids to a field full of bluebonnets in the hopes of getting some great pictures. My kids won’t even look at me! I take beautiful pictures of my client’s families but I can’t get great pictures of my kids. Carter is the most challenging. Gavin did catch a grass hopper while we were there, which was really cute. I laughed out loud when I saw the picture of him about to pounce on it. Afterwards we met Sam at a Mexican restaurant which is Gavin’s favorite kind.

Easter
This Easter we had general conference instead of going to church so we spent the day at home. The Nelsons came over and we had a feast. (Gavin likes to call it that.) We did house our annual egg hunt. Carter would not participate. Sam put an egg in his basket and he threw it and said no. I guess he didn’t want any candy. All the other kids had a blast!
