Run the Rails

Sam and Gavin both competed in their first race on the same day. Gavin ran the one mile fun run and Sam ran the 5K. I ran both events with them. Gavin sprinted at the beginning of the race but by the end he stopped to see if he could find a frog in the creek. He was pretty excited about the train whistle that he got when he crossed the finish line. He also loved getting free food when he was finished. Sue Layne was kind enough to pick up Gavin when he was done so I could also run with Sam. Jess, Zach, and their daughter Caroline also participated in the 5K. They are our neighbors from across the street, so we were team Drexmore, to get the team discount. The weather was really hot but Sam made it and we crossed the finish line hand in hand. He says his next goal is a 10K.
