Another Win for the Scorpions

Carter, the scorpion mascot, and Renee cheered the Scorpions onto another win.  It was 80 degrees on Friday but today it dipped down to a high of 52 degrees.  We were freezing!  Gavin is loving being a lineman and has no desire to run the ball.  When the Scorpions are ahead by 30 they let anyone who wants to take a turn running the ball but Gavin told me he likes to do what he is good at.  After the game I waited for Gavin to finish with the post game talk by the coaches.  Sam carried my cheerleading bin back to his car for me.  He left with Carter and Renee not realizing that my phone and keys were in my cheerleading bin.  I do not have Sam's cell number memorized and knew he would never check the answering machine on our home phone.  Luckily one of Gavin's team mates was able to give us a ride home.

Sick Sick Sick

We have been hit hard my illness so far this school year.  We have had strep and the flu so far and it is only the first week of October.  I was out sick two days last week with a 102 fever and Sam was out three days this week.  Renee has missed four days of school and Gavin has missed two.  Gavin also had poison ivy so bad that he had to have two steroid shots and two rounds of oral steroids.  Good thing we already met our medical deductible.  Hopefully the rest of the school year will be healthier.

National Night Out

Our neighborhood celebrated National Night Out.  They gave us free Ben and Jerry's ice cream, a bounce house, and the local firemen came to show off their truck.  They even let Carter hold their ax.

Playing in the Rain

It was pouring down rain and the Scorpions still played.  I cancelled the cheerleaders coming but the game went on.  I didn't bring my camera, but got this one during half time with my iPhone.  Look how filthy he is.  The Scorpions continue their undefeated season.

Carter is Six

Our baby boy turned six!  We had a race car making party for him.  The boys build the cars and then after a dinner of corndogs and french fries they got to paint them.  While the paint dried we played games, ate cake, and hit a pinata.  Carter had a wonderful time.  I had been sick since Wednesday with a fever of 102.  Luckily I was fever free for the party.

Game 2 for the Scorpions

Game two was just as fabulous for the Scorpions.  They pulled another win.  They did let a touchdown go buy when horses got loose next to the field.  It was my favorite part of the game.  The cheerleaders are doing better and better.  This week we made padded buckets for the girls to sit on while they aren't cheering.
This time we came prepared with buckets for the girls to sit on.

Look for Gavin's red shoes.  (Yes, I had him get red for this purpose.)

Another win!

Run in the Dark

We ran in the Run in the Dark 5K.  I pushed Carter in a stroller but he ran about a mile of it.  Fun times on a Saturday night.

Brothers

Brothers
I got the boys matching Halloween shirts and they were thrilled to wear them.  They even requested that I take their picture before school.  This won't always be the case.

My new toy

Look what I got to drive to work.  I am having so much fun driving it around.  It will save us $80 a month in gas.

Scorpion Football

This is our first game of the season.  Gavin is playing on the Scorpion team and Renee is cheering for him.  I am coaching Renee's cheer squad.  I needed to coach in order for her to be cheering for Gavin's team.  It has been fun and the other moms help out a lot.  Gavin's uniforms didn't come in on time, so he is just in a practice shirt.  All the girls in KYA cheer have the same uniforms.  That is why we don't match the scorpions who we cheer for.

Gavin is in the red shoes.

Sydney's Baptism

We spent the weekend in Stillwater, OK to attend Sydney's Baptism.  Jenne and Jace also attended.  Nick's brother and family and parents also attended.  It was fun getting together with everyone and we are so proud of Sydney.

Cowboys's Game

Lindsey and Mark offered us their extra Cowboys tickets.  This was our first NFL experience and the Cowboy's stadium was amazing.  We also enjoyed the nachos:)

Art Teacher

It is official, I am teaching again.  I have a perfect half time position teaching art at Saginaw Elementary.  For the first half of the year I will be there from noon to 3pm teaching kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades.   The second half of the year I will be there from 7-10:30am teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.  I love my schedule.  I can still volunteer in my children's school and give tours at the Kimbell Art Museum.  I feel really blessed.

First Day of School

The first day of school has finally arrived.  All of my kids are in one school and I couldn't be more thrilled start this chapter of my life.  You will not see any tears at our tears and cheers party.  Here are the outfits and backpacks that the kids picked out for their first day.  Renee picked those red boots first and we picked everything else to match.
