Sometimes when there is a Nascar race the race cars come to Walmart to show off. Carter liked the orange one the best.

Visiting Frisco

With Sam in Tennessee, I like to plan little adventures for the kids.  We visited the Cummings who were our neighbors in Frisco.  It was so fun to catch up with Cory and her son, Carson, had a blast with my kiddos.

A Girl and a Horse

I am getting some sample paintings ready for a kids summer art camp.  I took over the table, so the kids and I ate dinner on my little table I use at my painting parties.

Sam is off to Tennessee again.  He will be back on April 27th.  Hopefully I can survive.

The Look

I chuckled a little when I saw this video.  I was practicing with my church choir right before church and the kids were already seated in our pew.  Obviously, Gavin wasn't supposed to be playing with the camera.

This year I got Q-tips with die in them for us to use in our decorating.  It was really messy!

Drexmore Street Easter Egg Hunt

Crawford Farms didn't have their egg hunt this year, so I organized one for our street.  We used the five front doors next to us and the kids had a blast.  We also had a pot luck breakfast for the adults.  I think the kids just ate candy.

I came back from my run to find that the Easter Bunny came a day early. He must know we have 9am church tomorrow. Along with candy, Renee got a jewel adder to fabric and the boys got water guns. How fun!

Museum Day

Sam and the kids had the day off from work and school so we visited the Kimbell Art Museum and the Science Museum.  The Kimbell has an Impressionism exhibit that is fantastic.  I wanted the kids to see it and they did pretty well there.  I got to practice my new tour giving skills on them.  The kids wanted to go back to Grossology and Carter didn't even throw a fit this time.  The kids had a great time digging in the dino dig area.  We also got Carter into the planetarium.  It that past he has freaked out and wouldn't go in.  This time we took him in just to see the room and show him the equipment an hour before our show.  He still won't go on the Energy Blast ride, but we are making progress.  We ate dinner at Blue Mesa.  (I love their sweet potato chips.)  Carter drank his carmel dipping sauce out of the metal cup it was served in and it left a big ring on his face.  He keeps us laughing.

Catapult

Gavin has been planning for weeks to build a catapult.  He has made several drawing and would show me his designs on a regular basis.  Sam finally had some time to help, so he and Gavin came up with this catapult this weekend.  The springs are from our old trampoline.

Conference Weekend

Jenne and Jace spent the weekend with us.  While they were here we watched conference and made apple multaschen to have for breakfast.  Jenne, Renee, and I went fabric shopping to find drapery fabric and accent pillow fabrics.  I didn't know if we would make it, but we got it all finished before they had to leave.
