I gave Carter rice cereal for the first time today. He hated it! I think he might have been too tired so we will try again tomorrow. Gavin and Rene'e didn't cry about having to eat, but Carter sure let me know how he felt about the experience.
I took the kids to the park yesterday because it was such a nice day. I had to nurse Carter and while I was doing that Gavin and Rene'e were playing on the other side of a wooden toy. I could only see the top of their heads. When Carter finished I went over to them to see what they were up to. To my shock and horror, they were eating pringles out of some strangers diaper bag. The owner of the chips came over and I apologized but I was so embarrassed. I guess the only thing I can do now is laugh and hopefully make you laugh too.
Carter had to use a nebulizer to get rid of a cough. He also had his first ear infection. He wasn't even acting fussy and didn't have a fever. I took him to the doctor for the cough and found out he had an ear infection.
Alycia and I celebrated our birthdays by going out to dinner. We went to P.F. Chang and had a wonderful time. This was the first time I was with Alycia on her birthday since we were in college.
Sam made me a 28 pancake before he left for work. It was a nice surprise to come downstairs and find it.
I decided to eat a slice of peanut butter cup cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory for my birthday instead of cake. After everyone else's birthdays I really didn't want to eat more cake. I had to go to cub scouts on my birthday and the kids wanted to see me blow out candles, so I iced some frozen cupcakes and called it good. After I was done with scouts, Sam made me a nice dinner and I had my cheesecake.

Now that Gavin is four, the first thing he says when he meets someone is, "Do you know how old I am?" Then he yells and enthusiastic, "Four!" Can you imagine if we did that as adults? Gavin had a great birthday. Sam made him a blue pancake with a four on it. I took him to the library for story time and then we went to McDonald's for lunch. Gavin had his favorite dinner, chicken nuggets and French fries. I made him another cake to have on his actual birthday and he requested that it be blue. Gavin was really easy to buy for this birthday. He told me he wanted a Superman and a gun. I hope it will always be this easy to please him. It is a good thing that Superman is a man of steel because Gavin used his new Star Wars gun to shoot him.

Gavin's preschool class went to the Frisco Fire Station. A fireman showed the kids all around the station. He let them sit in the firetruck, go through the ambulance, and try on his boots. Both Gavin and Rene'e had a wonderful time and I learned a lot. It was so nice to get out of the house after being in quarantine for ten days.
Gavin started the new year out with chicken pox. We woke up on New Year's Day and this is what Gavin looked like. After looking at online pictures and sending Gavin's picture to his Aunts and Grandmas we determined that yes, Gavin does have chicken pox. Just so you know, 30% of immunized kids still get the pox. They don't tell you that when you are paying for the shot. Gavin is now well but still has some red blotches on his face.
