Sunday Photo Shoot

I try to take pictures of the kids on Sunday because they always look so cute. Today they were not in a picture taking mood so we had to play a game were they took turns running up the sidewalk and into this spot for a picture. Gavin made up the game, so this is what I got.

I ran in the Race for the Cure on Saturday. It was a 5K and I ran it in 27 min and 54 sec. I went with a group from my ward and had a lot of fun.

Building an Airplane

Gavin likes to do the Home Depot kids projects. This month he built an airplane.

Fishing at our pond

We have a pond down the street that is part of our home owners association. Gavin got a fishing pool from Santa, so we have been fishing with him a few times. Now that the weather is warm fishing has gotten a lot more fun because we are actually catching fish. Hot dogs are our bait of choice right now. On this particular fishing trip Gavin caught two fish and Aunt Debra caught one. Debra was getting really angry because the fish kept eating her bait off the hook, so I am glad she finally caught one.

Aunt Debra

Sam's brother's fiance, Debra stayed with us for three and a half weeks. The kids had a wonderful time playing with her. We will attend her and John's wedding later this month in Oregon.

The Dickerson's Visit

Our friends from college, Jasmine and Taylor Dickerson, came all the way from Oklahoma to visit us. We spent Memorial Day weekend with them and had a wonderful time. Our kids got along great. Gavin and Brayden (almost 4) were instant friends, even though Gavin couldn't remember Brayden's name. They even slept in a tent together in Gavin's room. Kylie (almost 1) liked Jinx, our dog, the best.
We played Hand & Foot and Zobmondo, our favorite games from our college days after the kids were in bed. I even got out the old scrapbooks so we could relive all our camping expeditions. It was certainly different now that we have five kids but it was so much fun. I hope they will come back and visit soon.

Preschool Graduation

Gavin graduated from preschool last Monday. We had our ceremony at a park and it was a very short program. After the kids ate cake they played on the equipment.

I made the cake and was practicing some techniques for John and Debra's wedding cake.

Fun at the Pool

Our favorite thing about living in Texas is our pool! Here are some pictures of the kids swimming and lounging at the pool.

Father Son Campout

Here are my boys off to their first father son campout. Gavin was so excited. I can't wait to hear how it went.

Happy Mother's Day

My mothers day was a nice one. The kids wouldn't smile for the picture, but they were nice to me. Gavin even made me an imaginary cake. Wasn't that sweet of him? I had to keep handing him all the imaginary ingredient though. I think Santa needs to bring him an easy bake oven.

Makeup Artist

Rene'e sure loves makeup. If she is quiet for a while I know where to find her. She always uses lip gloss, lip stick, and mascara around her eyes. The funny thing is that she is so pretty that she can pull off the look:)

Where the Wild Things Are

We never know where or how Rene'e is going to be asleep. She takes off her PJs and the only reason she keeps on her diaper is because we use packaging tape.

Oh Baba Baba!

Carter is already seven months. I sometime forget because he is so little (13 lbs). Here are some facts about Carter.
  • He has his two bottom teeth, which I am not enjoying while nursing.
  • He loves to play in the exersaucer.
  • He doesn't like his swing as much as he used to.
  • He can roll just about anywhere.
  • He loves pears and sweet potatoes.
  • I occasionally let him sit but I don't trust him not to fall over and I don't have much time to be sitting with him.
  • He saw the endocrinologist and there is nothing wrong with him to explain his small stature.
  • I am so glad he is a part of our family!

Mexican Princess

I got this dress for Rene'e in Mexico. She looked so cute in it but half way through sacrament meeting it started ripping apart. By the time she was done with nursery this was how she looked. Moral of the story, don't by clothing in Mexico!

Living room naps

I really have no idea why my kids pull their blankets off their beds and lay down in the living room. It is almost impossible to get them to nap in their rooms. This was Sunday morning thanks to 1pm church. I am having trouble keeping clothes on Rene'e. Sam potty trained her and now she really likes to be naked. I guess I have to work on that.

Number 603

This morning I completed my first race, The White Rock and Roll Five Mile. My time was 46 minutes and 50 seconds. It was a great experience and I would definitively do it again. My friends, left to right, Tammie Slay, Tami Johnson, and Julie Herlin. I just found out I was ranked 24 out of 90 for my age group and 333 out of 828 overall.

Fun with Oil Pastels

I am so lucky to have such artistic children! Even though this was tough to get off, they didn't get oil pastel anywhere but on their bodies.

Dancing in the Rain

We have been having some rain here in sunny Texas and Rene'e asked to play outside in it. She had a great time dancing around. She did become completely naked. I am glad our yard is fenced.

Baby Birds

Here is an update on our baby birds. We ended up having five eggs in our nest. I didn't know that birds didn't have all their eggs in one day. She laid one a day for five days. They hatched while we were in Arizona, so we came home to a MESS on the door. I took this picture and the next day the birds were gone. It didn't take them long to grow up and fly away. I scrubbed off the door and fixed the wreath so our entry is back to normal.
