Homemade Soft Pretzels

The weather wasn’t good this morning, so we didn’t go the pool. Everyone was bored, so we made soft pretzels. The kids love to do this because they get to roll the dough into long snakes. They also get to put the salt on the pretzels. Gavin said these were the best pretzels he ever had and was surprised that I was a good a pretzel maker.

This is the recipe.

Four Times the Sparks

We took the Sparks with us to NRH2O. Gavin and Ethan were in the same kindergarten class and are in the sane church class. They are inseparable and were so excited that we got together with the Sparks four times that week. Jeremiah asked me if we were using them to replace my sister’s family since they are out of town. We had a little rain but it was a really fun day.

Spray ground with the Sparks

The Sparks invited us go to the spray ground with them. It was an overcast day so we were the only people there. Natalie Thompson was also there and it was fun to chat while the kids played. I loved these pictures, so I am posting a lot of them. Enjoy!

Gymnastics

Gavin and Renée took gymnastics at the North Richland Hill’s community center. They loved it! On the last day of class parents got to come and watch. Here they are in all of their gymnastical glory.

GG, Pap-Pap, & Aunt Kendra Visit

My parents and sister were here visiting from June 29th to July 15th. The first week, Kendra stayed with me and my parents stayed with Alycia. We switched the second week. Her are some pictures of the highlights.

Swimming - We spent a lot of time swimming at the pool. Alycia has two in her community and I have one, so we had plenty of pool time.

Trey’s Birthday – Trey requested dinner at McDonald’s so we celebrated his birthday there and then had Diego cake at home.

Cabela’s – Dad and I took the kids to Cabela’s one day. He knew all about the animals and would tell us interesting facts.

Slip and Slide - My parents got my kids a slip and slide too and they spent a hot morning sliding in the back yard.

Blake’s Birthday – We went to water park for Blake’s birthday and then had taco’s at his house. It was a Texas Ranger birthday. Blake got a slip and slide so that is how the kids ended the evening.

Water park – We get a few free passes to NRH2O with our membership so we were able to take our family.

Texas de Brazil - Alycia and I took my dad to Texas de Brazil as a Father’s Day present. Anyone who knows my dad knows how much he loves meat so it was the perfect place for him.

Wildlife Preserve –Nick did some landscape design for a wildlife preserve and everyone went to check it out, besides me and Kendra. We were finished up Kendra’s senior pictures that I took.

Lost Kendra –I took Kendra running and she got lost at the very end. After I drove around and found her I gave her this toad that I found.

Babe’s Chicken House - one of our favorite places to eat in the area. It also doesn’t matter if the kids are load there and they get to do the Hokey Pokey.

Senior Pictures – I have a whole separate post on this but I sure enjoyed taking them.

Gifts made by GG – My mom made Gavin and Renée scripture cases. Gavin requested Transformers and Renée wanted horses.

Dominos Train – My mom learned this game and loves it, so we played about a million times. We are a big game family and it was fun to have people to play with.
