Celebrating 10 Years

This weekend we went to Galveston, TX to celebrate our 10 year anniversary that was on June 19th. Alycia and Nick graciously watched our kids and we enjoyed a kid free weekend. We spent a lot of time on the beach and also explored the historic areas of the downtown areas. We found an auto show and ate some great shrimp. Despite the destruction of last year’s hurricane Ike, we still had a nice time there. On the way home we passed through Kemah and toured their boardwalk. It is a cute little town on the bay.

Ten years is something to celebrate and I am glad that we did!

Father's Day

I let the kids pick out gifts for Sam at the dollar store. Gavin picked a utility knife. Renée picked little clamps. Carter picked screw drivers, but after Sam opened them, he took them back. We also got him some new shirts because Gavin told me that all dad’s t-shirt are now work around the house shirts.

I am so grateful that my children have such a wonderful dad. Sam even let them attach magnetic bracelets to his ears.

NRH2O Fireworks

We took the kids to NRH2O in the evening because they were going to have a fireworks display. Carter, for the first time, decided to go down some water slides. The other kids were having races down the slides and would make Sam say, “One, two, three, go!” each time they went down. It got to the point that all children going down the slide wanted Sam to tell them to go. His throat was a little sore by the end of the night.

The fireworks were fun to watch and the kids were surprising good considering the fact that we didn’t get home until 10:30.

Lisa's Party

My friend Lisa turned 30, hosted a birthday party for her. Alycia was a big help getting ready and even helped me make 20 tissue paper pompoms that you see hanging from the ceiling. It really was a fun night.

New Roof

Back in March we had golf ball size hail that damaged our roof. We got a new one thanks to our insurance. It was a really loud day.

New Pool at NRH2O

There is a new pool at NRH2O. It has a rock waterfall and a sandy beach. My kids love it because it is the deepest pool they have ever been in and the waterfalls are pretty cool. Carter likes to take handfuls of sand and let it wash away under the shower.

Horned Frogs

Sam was accepted to the Neeley School of Buisness at TCU. He will start work on his MBA this fall.
